John Volk 
John was born on November 4th, 1797 in Rye Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. John's father was John Peter Folk and his mother was UNKNOWN Catherine. His paternal grandparents were George Folk and UNKNOWN Elizabeth. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Peter, Samuel, Joseph, Sarah, Henry, Mary, Elizabeth, Catherine, Susannah and Ann. He is the second oldest of the eleven children.-
