Samuel was born on July 1st, 1821 in Pendleton County, West Virginia.  Samuel's father was William Trumbo and his mother was Susan L. Dyer.  His paternal grandparents were George Trumbo and Margaret Rockefeller Oats. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Emmanuel, George, Elijah, Hezekiah, Lavina, Josephine, Caroline, Ruhama, Susannah, Mary and Anna.  He died at the age of 59 in 1880 in Pendleton County, West Virginia.  He was buried in Warnstaff Family Cemetery, Pendleton County, West Virginia.

‌Samuel and Rebecca J. were married in a religious ceremony before 1846.


Samuel's second family with Mary A. Warnstaff

‌Samuel and Mary A. were married in a religious ceremony on December 8th, 1846 in Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia).  They had six sons and eight daughters, named Jacob, Reuben D., John Warnstaff, Jefferson G., Noah, George S., Susan Catharine, Anna R., Rebecca D., Laberta, Sarah A., Susan L., Virginia and Asenath Florence.


Samuel's third family

He had a biological son and a biological daughter, named William and Minora.
