William Thornton 
William was born on September 11th, 1649 in Petsworth, Gloucester, Virginia. William's father was William Thornton and his mother was Elizabeth Rowland. His paternal grandparents were William Thornton and Frances Robinson. He had two brothers and a sister, named Francis, Rowland and Esther. He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers named Luke and Edward. He died at the age of 78 in 1727 in Gloucester County, Virginia.-
