Rowland Thornton 
Rowland was born in 1653 in Petsworth, Gloucester, Virginia. Rowland's father was William Thornton and his mother was Elizabeth Rowland. His paternal grandparents were William Thornton and Frances Robinson. He had two brothers and a sister, named William, Francis and Esther. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had two half-brothers named Luke and Edward. He died at the age of 89 in 1742.-
