Peter John was born on August 3rd, 1832 in Chambersburg, Montgomery County, Ohio. Peter John's father was Balzer Stoker and his mother was Elizabeth Fox. His paternal grandparents were John Stoker and Elizabeth Critton. He had a sister named Kate. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother named Enoch. He died at the age of 69 on October 25th, 1901 in Piqua, Ohio. He was buried in Mapleville Cemetery, Tippecanoe City, Ohio.-
