Roda Jane was born in 1860. Roda Jane's father was Paulser Shaver and her mother was Angeline Westfall. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Shaver and Mary Hyer. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William Isaac, Edmund Barker, Daniel Jacob, Rebecca Jane, Matilda Catherine, Mary Catherine, Eliza Margaret and Elizabeth.-
