Daniel was born on January 31st, 1789 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Daniel's father was Jacob Jr. Shankweiler and his mother was Anna Catharina Desch. His maternal grandparents were Johan Adam Desch and Maria Gertraut Wagner. He had two brothers named Solomon and Johann B.. He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Jacob. He died at the age of 69 on May 18th, 1858 in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on May 21st, 1858 in Lehigh Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.General Notes
