Matilda Edith Atheling of was born in Dunfermline, Scotland.  Matilda Edith Atheling of's father was Malcolm III Caennmor Dunkeld of Scotland and her mother was Margaret the Exile Atheling.  Her paternal grandparents were Duncan I the Gracious MacCrinan of Scotland and Aelflaed (Sybil) of Northumbria; her maternal grandparents were Edward the Outlaw Atheling of England and Agatha von Braunschweig\Brunswick of Hungary. She had six brothers and a sister, named Edward of, Edmund I Dunkeld of, Ethelred of, Edgar Dunkeld of, Alexander I the Fierce of, David I the Saint of and Mary of. She had three half-brothers named Duncan II of, Donald of and Malcolm of.  She died on May 1st, 1118 in Westminster Palace, London, Middlesex, England.  She was buried in 1119 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.
