Martha was born on August 31st, 1698. Martha's father was Obadiah Owen and her mother was Christina Winchell. Her paternal grandparents were John Owen and Rebecca Wade; her maternal grandparents are David Winchell and Elizabeth Filley. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Obadiah, Samuel, Jedediah, Jedediah, Obadiah, Eunice, Jemima, Christiana and Tabitha.-
