John Owen 
John was born on December 25th, 1624 in Oswestry, Shorpshire or Surrey, England or Mathavarn, Wales. John's father was Richard Owen and his mother was Johanna Pitt. His paternal grandparents were Edward Owen and Sarah Oreley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William, Richard, George, Johanna and Sarah. He was the oldest of the six children. He died in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. He was buried in 1699 in SW corner of First Congregational Cemetery,Windsor,Connecticut.General Notes

April, 1698: Invt. exhibited, being only personal estate, and that given
to the Widow to be at her dispose, the children consenting. Inventory
included four coats and four pairs of britches, a powdering barrell,
books and bottles, pewter platter, dishes, spoons and ladle, brass cast
skillet and brass kettle, table cloths and a dozen napkins."
Inscription on gravestone in Congregational Church, Windsor graveyard
reads: "John Owen aged 76 years dyed February y 18th, 1698."
