Joshua was born in 1692 in Simsbury , Hartford County, Connecticut. Joshua's father was Joseph Owen and his mother was Esther Osborn. His paternal grandparents were John Owen and Rebecca Wade; his maternal grandparents were John Osborn and Anne Oldage. He had four brothers and a sister, named Moses, Caleb, Aaron, Joseph Jr. and Ann. He died about 1769 in Simsbury or Salisbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut.-
