Weston was born in Genesee County, New York. Weston's father was William Lambard Mosher and his mother was Dolly Lazelle. He had four brothers and a sister, named Charles, Ezra, John, William and Almira. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Sidney, James, Delia, Rosalie, Rosina and Carlista.
