Abraham was born on February 12th, 1809 in Log cabin at Sinking Spring Farm near Hodgenville, Hardin/Larue, Hardin County, Kentucky.  Abraham's father was Thomas Lincoln and his mother was Nancy Hanks.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Lincoln and Bathsheba Herring; his maternal grandparents were James Hanks and Lucy Shipley. He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Sarah.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 56 on April 15th, 1865 in Peterson House, 516 10th St NW, Washington, D.C..  He was buried in April 1865 in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.


Abraham's family with Mary Ann Todd

‌Abraham and Mary Ann were married in a religious ceremony on November 4th, 1842 in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.  They had four sons named Robert Todd, Edward Baker, William Wallace and Thomas.
