Rose Elizabeth Wentworth Hambleton 
Rose Elizabeth Wentworth was born on July 16th, 1869 in Mexico, Missouri. Rose Elizabeth Wentworth's father was Alfred Hambleton and her mother was Lydia Ann Thompson. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Hambleton and Ann R. Neal; her maternal grandparents were William Jr. Thompson and Mary Shields. She had two brothers and four sisters, named William Clinton, Charles Lincoln, Floretta, Mary T., Ida Ann and Clara. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 74 on April 17th, 1944 in Hunter, Cass County, North Dakota.General Notes
Some sources list her death on April 10, 1944 at age 76. I've used the
family bible dates. Ruby Fisk notes list her birth on July 16, 1868 with
her death on April 10, 1944 and burial on April 12, 1944.
OBITUARY: "Final Rites For Mrs. Rose W. Fiske, Wednesday DECEASED HAD
LIVED IN THIS COMMUNITY FORTY-EIGHT YEARS
Friends gathered at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon to pay their
last respects to a departed pioneer mother, Mrs. Rose W. Fiske. Rev.
H.J.Gernhardt officiated at the services and a quartet composed of Mrs.
Otis Mays, Mrs. Shirley Myers, Merland Carr and Kenneth Thompson sang
three selections, Face to Face, Abide With Me and Nearer Still Nearer.
They were accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Thompson at the piano. Pall
bearers were, R. E. Thompson, A.M. Peterson, H.E.Buchanan, H.F.Gale,
Leslie Powlison and Rev. W.W.Gunter. The body was laid to rest in the
family lot in the Hunter cemetery. Rose Wentworth Hambleton was born
July 16,1869 at Mexico, Missouri. During her early childhood her family
moved to Northern Kansas and from there to Oskaloosa, Iowa where she
attended school. After finishing school she went to Wray, Colorado,
where she was post-mistress until her marriage to William W. Fiske, May
5, 1889. In 1896 she and her husband moved to Hunter where she since
resided. To this union were born nine children, eight of whom are living
Warren, William and Florence, Hunter; Mrs. Eva Duffield and Leslie of
Ottowa, Illinois; Winifred of Duluth, Minnesota; Clarence of Fargo and
Mrs. Fay Johnson of Bristow, Oklahoma, all of whom were present for the
services. Thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren beside
her many friends shall hold her in pleasant memory. She was preceded in
death by her husband who passed away in 1930. Mrs. Clarence Fisk and two
children of Fargo also attended the services."
