His paternal grandparents were Thomas Giplin and Joan Bartholomew; his maternal grandparents were George Glover and Alice Lamboll. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, George, Isaac, Moses, Alice, Ruth, Ann, Sarah, Lydia, Hannah, Rachel and Esther. He died on December 31st, 1792 in Christiana Hundred, Delaware.-
