Betty was born on November 5th, 1917.1 Betty's father was William Oscar Ward and her mother was Lodicia Mastin. Her paternal grandparents are Mathew Ward and Elizabeth Jones; her maternal grandparents are William Gaines Mastin and Annie Taylor. She had three brothers and four sisters, named J. R., Living, Living, Opal Izalia, Annie, Living and Living.-
