William Underwood

William was born in 1849 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.¹ William's father was Lafayette Underwood and his mother is Ellenoar Scott. His paternal grandparents were Hiram Underwood and Celia Buley. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Rousseau, Thomas, Mary Jane, Celia, Nancy A., Lydia and Sallie. He is the oldest of the nine children.
