John Respess Underwood 
John Respess was born in 1896.1 John Respess' father was Roderick Rutland Underwood and his mother was Martha E. Smith. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Isam Underwood and Beralbe Spain. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Tilden M., Sanford Furman, Dovie V., Cora and Winnie. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 79 in 1975.1 General Notes
