John Jackson was born on April 5th, 1816 in Missouri.1 John Jackson's father was James Stephen, Sr. Tumlinson and his mother was Mary Elizabeth White. His paternal grandparents were John Tumlinson and Martha White. He had nine brothers and a sister, named Littleton F., James Stephen, Jr., David Carney, George Washington, William Pytus, Edward Eddy, Thomas J., Josiah, Andrew and Polly. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Samuel and Diana. He died about 1849 in Gonzales Co., Texas.1 General Notes
