David Carney Tumlinson 
David Carney was born on December 12th, 1811 in North Carolina.1 David Carney's father was James Stephen, Sr. Tumlinson and his mother was Mary Elizabeth White. His paternal grandparents were John Tumlinson and Martha White. He had nine brothers and a sister, named Littleton F., James Stephen, Jr., George Washington, John Jackson, William Pytus, Edward Eddy, Thomas J., Josiah, Andrew and Polly. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Samuel and Diana. He died at the age of 27 in October 1839 in Texas.1 General Notes
