Odell was born on July 17th, 1915 in Harwood, Gonzales Co., Texas.1 Odell's father was Cecil Roades McDonald and his mother is Isabell Riddle. His paternal grandparents were Albert Lewis McDonald and Martha Belle Tumlinson; his maternal grandparents are John Garrison Ridle and Mary Emma Jennings.
