Mary Amby Marbut 
Mary Amby was born on February 5th, 1883 in Near Pulaski, Giles Co., Tennessee.1 Mary Amby's father was Phillip Henry Marbut and her mother was Martha Ann Bassham. Her maternal grandparents were Levi Sampson Bassham and Sarah Smith. She had four brothers and a sister, named James Wesley, Harry, Debe William, John Nellie Blye and Sarah Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 84 on May 11th, 1967 in Hillsboro, Hill Co., Texas.1 General Notes
