Arminta Kirkland 
Arminta was born about 1855 in Tennessee.1 Arminta's father was William (Bill) Kirkland and her mother was Sarah Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Zachariah Kirkland and Elizabeth Harris; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Smith and Ann Unknown. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Caroline, Robert Francis, Anthony, James Hilory, Leroy (Lee) and Adelia Delilah. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
