Gertrude Mae was born on November 25th, 1911 in Buffalo, LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Gertrude Mae's father was Luther Young Farmer and her mother was Sarah Isabelle Skaggs. Her paternal grandparents were John Thomas Farmer and Mary Alice Skaggs. She had a brother and four sisters, named Elmer, Bernice, Dorothy E., Lorene and Myrtle P..
