When William Irwin Church died he named his brother-in-law, J. P. Dr
ak e, a Pgh physician, and his wife, Elizabeth Church as guardian of the b
oy s. The Dake's moved to Nashville in 1869, but the orphan boy rais
ed by the m, Thomas, was not listed as being with them.
William was orphaned at an early age.  He married Rachel Shriver (b. 1
0/ 18/1860) and she was the niece of William S. Brooks, the man who rais
ed Wi lliam Church.  William Church was a bank teller according to the 18
90 Pitt sburgh City Directory and his wife Rachel Shriver Church had a so
n,  Willi am Shriver Church b. 7/28/1884.  Both William & Thomas Church re
locat ed to Columbiana Co., Ohio.
