Peter Willis was born on July 30th, 1852 in Rush, Rusk Co., Texas.1 Peter Willis' father was Joel Blackwell and his mother was Sarah Ememline Graham. His maternal grandparents were Jesse Abner,Rev. Graham and Martha Jane Fannin. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John Milton, George Washington Grant, Amos Jefferson, William Newton, Benjamin David, Alexander Jefferson, Martha Jane, Mary Ann and Lydia Ellen. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He had a half-brother named Charles Stuart,Jr.. He died at the age of 29 on June 25th, 1882 in Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.1 General Notes
