Mary Ann was born on June 26th, 1855 in Rush, Rusk Co., Texas.1 Mary Ann's father was Joel Blackwell and her mother was Sarah Ememline Graham. Her maternal grandparents were Jesse Abner,Rev. Graham and Martha Jane Fannin. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named John Milton, George Washington Grant, Amos Jefferson, Peter Willis, William Newton, Benjamin David, Alexander Jefferson, Martha Jane and Lydia Ellen. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children. She had a half-brother named Charles Stuart,Jr.. She died at the age of 74 on April 15th, 1930 in Coryell, Co., Texas.1 General Notes
