William Penn Basham 
William Penn was born on June 12th, 1908 in Grayson Co., Kentucky.1 William Penn's father was Thomas Ezra Basham and his mother was Sara Ellen Downey. His paternal grandparents were George W. Basham and Barbara A (Polly) Crutchelow. He had a sister named Nellie. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 91 on December 12th, 1999 in Twin Lakes Regional Medical Cener, Leichfield, Kentucky. He was buried on December 14th, 1999 in Clarkson Cemetery.1 1 General Notes

ent er in Leitchfield. He was born on June 12, 1908 in Grayson Coun
ty as t he son of Tom Basham and Sarah Downey. He was retired from the c
ivil ser vice, a retired farmer, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #720.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary E. Basham Cole; one gran
dd aughter, Kimberly Kay Basham; and one sister, Nelly Basham Pear
l. He is s urvived by his wife, Dorothy Basham of Leitchfield; two son
s, William T. B asham of Richmond, Virginia and James R. Basham of Frankli
n; one daughte r, Dorothy "Dot" McCall of Leitchfield; seven grandchildr
en and six gre at grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at the Roge
rs Fu neral Home in Clarkson with Bro. Art Hatfield officiating. Buri
al w as in the Clarkson Cemetery.
