Lindsey William (Shorty) was born on February 6th, 1880 in Rising Star, Eastland Co., Texas.1 Lindsey William (Shorty)'s father was Henry William Basham and his mother was Elizabeth Nancy Greer. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Basham and Elizabeth Coffey Marler. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Brandon M., Solomon (Sol), Allen, Lottie, Victoria and Emmie.
