Eleanor De was born in 1158 in Vitre, Ille Et Vilaine, Brittany, France.  Eleanor De's father was Robert III De Vitre and her mother was Emma De Dinan.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert II De Vitre and Emma De La Guerche; her maternal grandparents were Alan De Dinan and Agnorie Penthievre De Bretagne. She had a sister named Maud De.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died before August 12th, 1233 in Westcott, Dorking, Surrey, England.  She was buried in Mondaye Abbey, Bayeux, Calvados, Normandy.
