Emma De was born about 1066 in Mortagne Au Perche, Orne, Normandy, France.  Emma De's father was Robert De Mortaigne and her mother was Maud De Montgomery.  Her paternal grandparents were Harlevin Herluin Conteville and Arlette Herleve De Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Roger De Montgomery and Mabel De Talvas D'Alencon. She had a brother and two sisters, named William De, Agnes De and Denise De.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Miss De.  She died in 1080 in Huesca, Spain.
