Stella was born on June 6th, 1892 in Ameter Villiage, , Grayson , Kentucky, USA.1 Stella's father was George B. McClellan Skaggs and her mother was Letitia Ellen Spencer. Her paternal grandparents were John Witten Skaggs and Susan Westfall Keller; her maternal grandparents were Elliott Spencer and Margaret Ellen or Maggie Toole. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Virgil, Charles, Ivan, Blaine, Wayne, Florence and Hester. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 88 on April 1st, 1981. She was buried in Rock Creek Cemetery In Grayson County, Kentucky.2 General Notes
