Dorothy Louise McGUIRE PETRY, 80, of Columbus, a former Portsmouth resident, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at a Columbus Alzheimer care unit.
Born Nov. 19, 1915, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late George W. McGUIRE and Nora ROBINSON McGUIRE, she was an employee for the former Williams Mfg. Company and Schaefer Supermarkets and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond PETRY, March 23, 1988, she is survived by three sons, the Rev. Thomas PETRY and Joe PETRY, both of Columbus, and John PETRY of Reynoldsburg; three sisters, Ann PASS of Grandview and Marilyn Sue WIKOFF and Janet JOHNSON, both of Reynoldsburg; a sister, Irene McGUIRE SIMPSON of Columbus; and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Columbus, where a fellowship and remembrance will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the social hall and a liturgy will be held at 8 p.m. Monday.
Services will be held at noon Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Thomas PETRY and the Rev. David YOUNG officiating, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 9 a.m. until time of the services Tuesday.
The family's favorite charity is the Columbus Alzheimers Care Unit, 700 Jason Way, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
