Robert was born on February 14th, 1812 in , Hardin, Kentucky, USA.1 Robert's father was John Buckles and his mother was Frances Wallingford. His paternal grandparents are Robert Buckles Jr. and Rachel Van Meter; his maternal grandfather is Mr Wallingford. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Abraham, James, John Jr., Henry, William, Jacob, Aaron, Asa, Nancy, Phebe and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 49 on January 24th, 1862 in , Hardin, Kentucky, USA. He was buried in St. Ignatius Cemetery (Old), White Mills, Hardin, Kentucky.1 General Notes
