His paternal grandparents were William UNKNOWN and Matilda DE FLANDERS; his maternal grandfather was Robert CORBET. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Robert, Rainald, William, Reginald, Sybilla, Elizabeth, Rohese, Matilda and Gundred. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, Robert, Reginald, Henry, Henry, Matilda, Constance and Elizabeth.
