Sybil was born about 1151 in Bramber, Sussex.1 Sybil's father was William DE BRAIOSE and her mother was Bertha OF HEREFORD. Her paternal grandparents were Philip DE BRAIOSE and Aenor DE TOTENEIS; her maternal grandparents were Miles DE GLOUCESTER and Sybil DE NEUFMARCHE. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, Reginald, Reginald, Sibyl, Matilda, Sibyl, Bertha and Bertha.2 General Notes
