James Henderson was born on October 14th, 1853 in LONDON, LAUREL CO., KENTUCKY. James Henderson's father was Andrew Jackson HOOD and his mother was Sarah Sallie COTTINGIM. His paternal grandparents were John Bell HOOD and Mary Elizabeth HENDERSON. He had a brother and two sisters, named John William, Mary Elizabeth and Ann Eliza. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William Pressel, Napolean, George A, Thomas Jefferson, Willis Oscar, Andrew Jackson, Margarette Angline and Louisa.
