Jane was born about 1591 in Of Temple Cheston, Hertford, Eng.. Jane's father was Nicholas THORGOOD and her mother was Dorothy ALLOY. Her paternal grandparents were John THOROGOOD and Margaret SMYTH; her maternal grandfather was UNKNOWN ALLEY. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Frances, Joane and Margaret. She was the second youngest of the seven children.General Notes
