Josiah was born about 1624 in Blyborough, Lincoln, England and his baptism took place in Of, Rehoboth, Bristol, Mass. Josiah's father was John READ and his mother was Sarah LESSIE. His maternal grandparents were William LESSIE and Mrs. LESSIE.
