Sarah (Sally) was born in 1789 in Hunting Creek, Iredell, N.C.. Sarah (Sally)'s father was Thomas MOODY and her mother was Mary YOUNG. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas MOODY and Mary UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Cadet YOUNG and Judith JOHNSON. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John Wyatt, Henry, Thomas, Benjamin Epps, William, Nancy, Elizabeth, Clarisse, Lucinda "Lucy" and Temperence.
