Philip Ray was born on January 29th, 1903 in Provo, Utah, Utah. Philip Ray's father was Lorenzo Hyrum EWELL and his mother was Mary Jane DENNIS. His paternal grandparents were Francis Marian EWELL and Frances Mary WEECH. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named MERTIES, Lorenzo VERNAL, William Terry, EVAN, EVERT, Donald Walter, Hyrum EZCKIEL, HOSMER LA VON, CLAUDIA Francis, Zella BIRDEEN, FANNIE ELNORA, EDDAVEIN and RUBY MERLING. He was the fourth youngest of the fourteen children.-
