Richard was born about 1159 in Little Crosby, Sefton, Lancashire, England. Richard's father was Robert de Molyneux and his mother was Beatrice de Villiers. His paternal grandparents were Adam de Molyneux and Annora le Garnett; his maternal grandfather was Robert de Villiers. He had three brothers named Simon, Vincent and John. He was the oldest of the four children. He died after 1211.-
