Murdock was born about 1363 in Scotland.  Murdock's father was Robert Stuart and his mother was Margaret Murdock Graham.  His paternal grandparents were Robert II De Bruce Stuart and Elizabeth Mure; his maternal grandparents were Sir John Graham and Mary Stewart. He had a brother and five sisters, named John, Lady Margaret, Janet, Maria, Lady Isabella and Lady Marjory.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died on May 25th, 1425 in Beheaded at Stirling Castle, Scotland by King James I.  He was buried in Church of the Black Friars, Stirling, Scotland.

‌Murdock and Isabel were married in a religious ceremony.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Sir Walter, Sir Alexander, James Mohr, Robert and Isabella.
