William Smith 
William was born on October 7th, 1885 in Forreston, Ogle, Illinois. William's father was Tjark (Jackson) Smidt and his mother was Wopke Muntenga. His paternal grandparents were Jakob Heijen Gerdes Smidt and Frauke (Fanny) DeGrave. He had a brother and four sisters, named Jacob (Jimmie), Fannie, Katie, Dena and Clara. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 79 on March 19th, 1965 in Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa.-
