Elias Burke Powell 
Elias Burke was born on January 1st, 1774 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Elias Burke's father was Ambrose Powell and his mother was Margaret Holt. His paternal grandparents were Elias Powell and Elizabeth Blair. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Lewis, William, Peter, John, Margaret, Rachel, Mary Polly, Sarah and Polly Marian. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 89 on April 6th, 1863 in Scottsville, Macoupin, Illinois.-
