Adeliza was born about 1075. Adeliza's father was Simon de Montfort and her mother was Agnes d'Evereux. Her paternal grandparents were II Amaury and Bertrade de Gommetz; her maternal grandparents were Count d'Evereux Richard and Alice Godehilde Fitzwilliam Borrel. She had five brothers and a sister, named Richard, Simon II, Amaury IV, Hugo, Guillaume and Bertgrade. She was the youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Amaury "The Strong" and Isabelle.-
