Mathilda was born about 0890 in Memleben,Saxony,Germany.1   Mathilda's father was Dietrich (Theoderich) Count of the Saxon Hamalant (Ringelhei and her mother was Reginhilde von Friesland.  Her paternal grandparents were Immed von Sachsen and Mathilda von Dreini; her maternal grandparents were Godefrid King of Haithabu and Gisela of Princess of Lorraine von Lothringen. She had a brother and two sisters, named Lambert Count of Louvain, Amaldra and Frederunda.  She died in Memleben,Sachsen.  She was buried in Dom zu Quedlinburg.1
