Margaret Wright m. Lt. Thomas Bancroft on Dec. 8, 1653 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. Margaret was b. Abt. 1633? in England and D. 1670/2? in Westfield?, Hampden Co.?, MA?.  Thomas was b. Abt 1625 in Chellaston, Derbyshire, England and D. Dec. 14, 1684 in Enfield, Hartford Co, CT . He came to America in 1640.  He was a Selectman and a farmer.  His parents were John Bancroft and Jane Bonython. Margaret and Thomas had at least 8? children. They were Lydia (died a child)), Margaret, Anna (died in infancy)), Thomas Jr. (moved to NJ?, m. Margaret Miller?), Anna (m. #1 Thomas Gilbert III, had at least 5 children, John (moved to NJ, m. Patience Latting/Lattin), Ebenezer (died in infancy?), Margaret (moved to Sheffield, Berkshire Co., MA, m. #1 Joshua Root; m. #2 Benjamin Stebbins), Sarah and Anna (m. Joseph Seager/Segar, an active land trader); Anna m. #2 James Sexton/Saxton, they had at least 1 child, James II (m. Abilena/Abalena Gilbert), note that James II is sometimes connected to James Sexton/Saxton Sr's first marriage to Hannah Fowler)), Julia (died in infancy)), Samuel (m. Joanna Gillett/Gillet/Gillette)) and Ruth (moved to Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, m. John Stiles III, a farmer, had at least 14 children, Ruth (m. Nathaniel Taylor), John IV (Lt., mason & farmer, m. Mary Osborn?), Margaret (m. Joseph Peck Jr., ensign), Issac (Rev., weaver & was a good classical scholar, especially in Latin, m. #1 Kezia Taylor; m. #2 Esther Hooker, *note-many researchers also have this Issac marrying a Hannah Palmer also), unknown name girl (twin, died in infancy), unknown name boy (twin, died in infancy), Ebenezer (m. #1 Ann Drake; m. #2 Sarah Pinney), Noah (m. Abigail Gaines), Abel (died in infancy), Hannah (twin, died in infancy), Ano (twin, died in infancy), Abel (Rev., m. Alethea Robinson), Hannah (m. Isaac Hayden) and Benoni (died in infancy)) (*Note-It was thought that Margaret married twice, #2 being Thomas Bliss. But it is thought by some Bliss researchers that that Margaret was a Margaret Hulins not Margaret Wright.) (*Note-Also, it is thought that Thomas Bancroft also married several times. After Margaret, it is believed he married Hannah Gardner and had at least 3 children with her, Rebecca (m. Samuel Gillett), Nathaniel (m. Ruth Heald) and John (died in infancy). Some of these children have, at times, been confused as being also Margaret's. Part of the problem, is that we do not have an exact death date for Margaret Wright. It has ranged from 1670-1699. Also, the birth dates of all the children has varied from source to source.)
