Lavina Jane was born on November 24th, 1827. Lavina Jane's father was Marsham (Massa) Powers and her mother was Jane Holmes. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac H. Powers and Abigail Davis. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Isaac Holms, Jacob, Jackson, James, Samuel M., Indiana, Margaret (Peggy) and Hannah Mathewson. She was the second oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 68 on July 14th, 1896. She was buried in Freedom Cem. Warrick Co. IN.-
