His paternal grandparents were Hendrick Adriaensz de Wees and Adriaentje Jans-------------; his maternal grandparents were poss Lieuwes Lamberts and poss Dievertie. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Lewis-Lambertus, Hendrick, William, Dievertie, Ariaentie, Lysbeth and Wilhelmina Pietre.-
